HGTV's 'Kitchen Cousins' Bankruptcy Case Pushed Back, Report Says
Co-hosts filed for personal bankruptcy last month after an unfavorable ruling was issued against them regarding a Tenafly renovation job.
Hearings for the “Kitchen Cousins” personal bankruptcy cases have been pushed back to Sept. 30.
John Colaneri, of Ramsey, and Anthony Carrino, who filed separate bankruptcy claims in Newark Aug. 4 after they lost an $860,000 award in favor of homeowners Robert and Peng Avery.

Colaneri has asked the court for approval to retain Joseph B. Fiorenzo to challenge the the ruling against him and Carrino, NorthJersey.com reported. The pair appear on several HGTV home improvement shows together, including “Kitchen Cousins,” “Cousins Undercover,” and “America’s Most Desperate Kitchens.”
The Averys sued Colaneri, Carrino, and Carrino’s Brunelleschi Construction for breach of contract, fraud, and other wrongdoing related to the alleged renovation.

Colaneri owes more than $1 million in home loans, and Carrino lists a total of more than $7 million in unsecured loans made by ConnectOne, The Record reported.
Colaneri and Carrino made about $150,000 and $96,000, respectively, over the past six months from their media company and other business ventures, the report states.
