High Schoolers Prepare, Serve Four-Course Meal

Members of the Permaculture Club at Westwood Jr./Sr. High School participated in a dinner service Wednesday

The cafeteria of was churning out more than typical fare Wednesday night when students in the Permaculture Club were involved in ever aspect of a dinner service.

The club held its second Autumn Harvest Festival, which offered members of the community a four-course meal for $15 per adult. Students participated in all the roles of a typical restaurant, including hosting, cooking and serving the dishes.

Diners had several choices throughout the meal, which was made to order. They chose between a classic Ceasar salad and a beet salad to start. Then there was an option of fried ravioli or hand cut fettuccini with tomatoes, cheese and olive oil for the pasta course. Entree options were pan roasted chicken and honey brined pork chops. Dessert included pumpkin mousse, pumpkin cheesecake and pumpkin ice cream.
