Man Wanted In Alleged Palisades Park Sexual Assault Incidents Arrested

Manuel J. Tamay, 33, was charged with sexual assault and attempted sexual assault, prosecutor said.

A Palisades Park man was charged with sexual assault and attempted sexual assault following two alleged incidents in that borough earlier this month, authorities said.

Manuel Tamay, 33, was charged with sexual assault and attempted sexual assault, said Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli.

The prosecutor’s office released a description and sketch of the alleged assailant after the attacks were reported.

Palisades Park police officers saw a man, later identified as Tamay, fitting the description of the alleged assailant in both incidents near the intersection of East Homestead Avenue and 3rd Street Monday; the man could not provide police with identification, authorities said.

Tamay was taken to the Palisades Park Police Department for further investigation where detectives identified, arrested, and charged him, Molinelli said.

Bail for Tamay was set at $300,000 with no 10 percent option. Tamay was unable to post bail and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail.
