New Principal Coming to Hillsdale School

Christopher Bell is set to start as the new principal of Meadowbrook School starting July 1.

Bell will be replacing Richard Spirito, who is leaving the position to be the new superintendent of the Hillsdale School District.

More than 100 applicants applied for the position. Spirito told Patch Monday he thought Bell's administrative style would work well in Hillsdale.

"I thought he would fit in well with the staff, as well as the community," Spirito said.

Bell is currently the assistant principal at the Stillwater Township School. He has also taught in Kinnelon and Wyckoff and holds degrees from William Paterson University and Seton Hall University.

The Hillsdale Board of Education unanimously approved Bell for the position earlier this year.

Interim Superintendent Raymond Albano will be to fill in as their district's interim superintendent.
