N.J.'s First West Nile Death Since 2013 Reported In North Jersey
Fatality is one of seven cases of the West Nile Virus so far this season.

A 65-year-old Passaic County man has died of West Nile Virus.
The Aug. 29 death is the first fatality from the mosquito-borne illness since 2013, said Donna Leusner, director of communications for the the state Department of Health.
New Jersey had no West Nile deaths last year and two in 2013, Leusner said. Including the Passaic County death, New Jersey has had seven human cases of West Nile Virus so far this season.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed 415 cases of the disease, including 10 fatalities, this year.
