Pascack High Students Win State Contest
The seniors' script was made into a public service announcement to dissuade other students from drinking at their proms.

A public service announcement which has been running this spring, with a message designed to dissuade students from drinking at their proms, was written by three seniors at Pascack Valley High School.
Carlie Cattelona, Melissa Chayt and Emily Considine wrote the script for the 30-second announcement, according to a press release from the state Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
A panel picked the students' script out of about 50 submissions. A production team from Rutgers visited the high school in February to shoot the announcement, which began airing in April.

“The entries were compelling and the winners told a relatable story that will make an impression on high school students as it plays throughout the state during this prom season,” ABC Director Michael Halfacre said in the press release.
Another team from Pascack Valley High, consisting of students Kathryn Haskins, Ilexia Halperin, Samantha Figueroa and Catherine Rodgers, was given an honorable mention.
