• Scouts deliver downtown bike rack, earn Bronze Awards (thepressgroup.net) — Downtown Westwood just gained a new bike rack outside the Sgt. Christopher R. Hrbek Post Office, thanks to Girl Scout Troop 98178's Bronze Award project. After pitching the idea to the mayor and council, the girls funded and sited the rack to keep bikes off sidewalks and doorways. Their work supports Westwood's "Walk Your Wheels" rules and gives riders a convenient place to park while visiting local shops.
   

• Westwood charity 'dangerously' low on cash looks for helping hands (northjersey.com) — Westwood residents are being asked to step up as Westwood Cares, a longtime local nonprofit that helps neighbors in financial crisis, has nearly depleted its funds. The group, which assists with rent, utilities, medicine and holiday drives, recently raised some money but still struggles to meet growing need. Locals can donate by check, Givebutter, Venmo, or volunteer to boost outreach and social media.
