Thing 1 and Thing 2 Visit Washington School Children
Members of the PSO dressed up as part of the Read Across America event
Read Across America Week ended at with PSO members Beth Ritter and Laura Stokes dressing up as Thing 1 and Thing 2 from the Dr. Seuss book. They visited each classroom and handed out Dr. Seuss bookmarks to all the students to encourage reading.
Before the visit, every child in the school was given the opportunity to submit a silly poem for a contest. When the PSO members went to the classrooms, they gave certificates to each child who submitted a poem and the winner in each classroom got a $5 gift card to Barnes & Noble.
The winning poems will be displayed on a bulletin board in the hallway of the school.

PSO Co-President Ali Ender said this is the first year the PSO has done such a program and she was happy with the results.
