Thunderstorms Expected, Air Quality Alert Issued For Thursday
There is the potential for 'strong to severe' thunderstorms.
Strong to severe thunderstorms could hit North Jersey Thursday, the National Weather Service warns.
The main threat, the NWS said, is strong winds. Thunderstorms could blanket North Jersey Thursday afternoon and evening. Flash flooding is also possible.
The state Department of Environmental Protection has issued an air quality alert until 10 p.m. Thursday.

Ground level ozone levels may reach unhealthy standards. Children, asthma sufferers, residents with heart or lung diseases, and elderly people are susceptible to negative effects as a result, the NWS said. These residents should avoid strenuous activities and exercising outdoors.
