Washington Twp. Library Hosting Maureen Casey Art Exhibit

The artist's work will be on display during February.

The Township of Washington Library is presenting an art exhibit, titled "Inspired by Nature," by Maureen Casey in the program room for the month of February. Ms. Casey has exhibited at the Pascack Art Association "Art in the Park," at various shows with the Ridgewood Art Institute, at the Franklin Lakes Library, Ridgewood Library, Fairlawn Library, Valley Hospital and Art at the Stable in Ridgewood, N.J. Her pet portraits are on permanent display at the Ramapo Valley Animal Hospital, Oakland, N.J.

A resident of Waldwick, Ms. Casey attended the School of Visual Arts to learn Graphic Design. She feels fortunate to study with John Philip Osborne at the Ridgewood Art Institute. She has also taken various workshops with other great artists such as Lorraine Minetto, Diana Gibson, Rebecca Leer, Clinton Hobart and Renate Wehmeyer.

A board member of the Ridgewood Art Institute, Ms. Casey says "I have always loved animals, nature and art, and the way the sun illuminates each thing, whether it is the glow on a petal of a flower or the faces of my dogs and cats when they are soaking up the warm morning sunlight. She continues, "I have been commissioned to paint many pet portraits and have been told that I capture the true essence and soul of these pets by their owners."
