Dad Puts Teen Coach In Chokehold, Family Is Banned For Life From Flag Football League: Report

WESTWOOD, NJ — The father and his family have been banned from a pee wee flag football league after he put a allegedly put a teenage coach in a headlock after his son was brought out of the game as quarterback, according to a report.
Closter Public Schools Business Administrator Peter Iappelli grabbed Peter Bicocchi, 16, an assistant who was coaching the Pee Wee Jets team because the team's head coach wasn't there for Yom Kippur, Daily Voice reported.
Biocchi reportedly rotated a player out of the game at quarterback, which is when Iappelli became enraged, walked up to him and shook his hand, which turned into a bearhug, which turned into a chokehold, Fred Kritzer, commissioner of the North Jersey Flag Football League told NJ.com.

Iappelli left the game a few minutes later and, in an email to Kritzer, said he would not return to a game for the rest of the season, NorthJersey.com reported; Kritzner banned the Iappelli's family for life from from the league, according to the report.
Westwood Councilman Robert Bicocchi, the coach's father, said he signed a police complaint against Iappelli and that his son was OK, the report said. The boy was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with neck pain, according to the report.

Iappelli was charged with simple assault and a disorderly persons offense, NorthJersey.com reported. He is due to appear in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing court Oct. 20.
