Westwood Crossing Guard Struck By Car Suffers Serious Head Injury: Report

Man was working near Berkeley School, police said.

A Westwood crossing guard suffered a serious head injury and possible broken leg after he was struck by a car Wednesday morning, according to a report.

The Hillsdale man, whose name was not in the report, was helping children cross the street near Berkeley School when he was struck by a sedan around 8:30 a.m., Police Chief Frank Regino told The Daily Voice.

The sedan’s driver was at the scene and was questioned by authorities following the incident, the report states.

The crossing guard was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.
