Westwood High School Alumnus Promoted To Police Lieutenant
The kids and youth of Wyckoff know Detective Lt. Joseph Soto Jr. well. He has been the department's drug prevention officer since 1997.

WESTWOOD, NJ — A Westwood High School alumnus, a longtime Wyckoff drug prevention officer has been promoted to lieutenant.
Detective Joseph Soto Jr. was sworn in at his new rank at the Township Committee's Aug. 8 meeting.
Soto was appointed a probationary police officer in August 1994. He was promoted to sergeant in 2009.

Soto has taught drug prevention in Wyckoff schools since 1997.
He has also served on the Wyckoff Municipal Alliance Committee and worked to address domestic violence issues and teach crime prevention and enforce tobacco laws.

Soto received an associate's degree in business administration from Bergen Community College.
