Westwood, IHA Girls Advance in Soccer Tournament

The high school fall sports season is in full swing. Patch will bring you a weekly review of what happened for Westwood High School and IHA players and provide a preview of upcoming games.

Week in Review

• The Westwood , 48-20. The team beat Indian Hills Thursday, 34-27.
  
  
• Both the Westwood and IHA girls soccer teams won their games in the first round of the Bergen County soccer tournament Sunday, moving on to the second round. The Lady Cardinals beat Emerson 3-1 and IHA shut out Dumont 4-0. Some say the Lady Cardinals have a tough road ahead.
  
  
• The WHS boys soccer team lost to Ramsey Monday, 5-0. The team is now 2-6.
  
  
• In girls volleyball, IHA beat Passaic High School 2-0 Monday and beat Clifton Wednesday, 2-0. The Lady Cardinals fell to Northern Highlands 2-0 Monday and beat Ramsey Wednesday, 2-1.
  
  
• In girls tennis, IHA beat Passaic 5-0 Monday and the Lady Cardinals beat Hackensack 3.5 to 1.5 Monday.
  
  
• The WHS boys cross country team beat Cliffside Park 42-20 Tuesday.
  
  
• In girls cross country, the Lady Cardinals lost to Cliffside Park 33-23 and IHA lost to Holy Angels 50-15 Tuesday.
  
  
• In field hockey, Lady Cardinals lost to Pompton Lakes Monday, 1-0 and lost to Lakeland Tuesday, 1-0. The team is seeded fifth in the Bergen County field hockey tournament.
  
  
• The Lady Cardinals fell to Ramsey in tennis Wednesday, 5-0.

What's Ahead:

SATURDAY

• The IHA volleyball team is scheduled to compete in the IHA Tournament at home against Science Park High School at 8 a.m. and in the Garden State Classic against Bogota High School at 9 a.m.

SUNDAY

• The IHA soccer team is scheduled to compete in the second round of the Bergen County tournament at home against Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan at noon.
  
  
• The WHS field hockey team is scheduled to play in the county tournament quarterfinal against Hackensack at 10 a.m.
  
  
• The IHA volleyball team is scheduled to compete in the IHA Tournament at home against Science Park High School at 8 a.m. and in the Garden State Classic against Bogota High School at 9 a.m.

MONDAY

• The WHS girls tennis team has a home match scheduled against Bergenfield at 4 p.m.
  
  
• The IHA soccer team has an away game scheduled against the Academy of the Holy Angels at 4 p.m.
  
  
• The Lady Cardinals are scheduled to take on Dumont away at 4:15 p.m.

TUESDAY

• The WHS boys and girls cross country teams are scheduled to participate in the Garrett Divisional at 3:30 p.m.
  
  
• The Lady Cardinals have an away field hockey game scheduled against Passaic Valley High School at 4 p.m.
  
  
• The IHA volleyball team has an away match scheduled against Hackensack High School at 4 p.m.
  
  
• The WHS boys soccer team has a home game scheduled for 4:15 p.m. against Dumont.
  
  
• The Lady Cardinals have a volleyball match scheduled away against Dumont at 4:15 p.m.

• The Lady Cardinals tennis team has a home match scheduled against Fort Lee at 4:15 p.m.
  
  
• The IHA tennis team has an away match scheduled against Northern Valley Old Tappan at 4:15 p.m.

• The IHA soccer team has a home game scheduled against Passaic County Technical Institute at 4 p.m.
