Westwood Loses Football Opener, IHA Wins in Soccer

The high school fall sports season has begun. Patch will bring you a weekly review of what happened for Westwood High School and IHA players and provide a preview of upcoming games.

Week in Review

• The Westwood , and Bird Bowl trophy, last Friday to River Dell High School. The score was 29-15.
  
  
• Northern Highlands beat Westwood at field hockey Monday, 3-1. Ramsey defeated the Lady Cardinals Wednesday, 6-1.
  
  
• The Westwood High School boys soccer team lost to Tenafly Monday, 2-1. WHS defeated Dwight Morrow High School Wednesday, 4-2.
  
  
• IHA's volleyball team beat Paramus Catholic Monday, 2-0.
  
  
• The Westwood High School girls tennis team was defeated by Fair Lawn Tuesday, 5-0. The Lady Cardinals fell to Paramus Catholic Wednesday, 5-0.
  
  
• The boys cross country team from Westwood High School lost to Dumont Tuesday, 33-24.
  
  
• The IHA soccer team beat Paramus Catholic 4-1 Tuesday.
  
  
• The Lady Cardinals beat Tenafly in soccer Tuesday, 4-2.
  
  
• WHS girls volleyball defeated Dwight Morrow High School Wednesday 2-0.
  
  
• The IHA cross country team fell to Paramus and Bergen Tech.

FRIDAY

• Westwood High School girls field hockey team takes on Wayne Valley High School at home at 4 p.m.
  
  
• The IHA volleyball team will play Passaic Tech away at 4 p.m.
  
  
• The Cardinals football team will take on Dumont away at 7 p.m.

SATURDAY

• The Westwood High School girls volleyball team is scheduled to play at Wood-Ridge High School at 10 a.m.
  
  
• Both boys and girls on the Westwood High School cross country team are set to compete in the Cross Country Suffern Invitational at Bear Mountain at 9 a.m.
  
  
• The IHA soccer team has an away game scheduled against Passaic Tech at 10 a.m.

• The Lady Cardinals are scheduled to take on Leonia in tennis at home at 4 p.m.

• The Westwood High School field hockey team is scheduled to play at Hackensack High School at 4:15 p.m.

TUESDAY
