Westwood Regional School Board Seats will be Contested in April Election

The deadline for submitting petitions was 4 p.m. Tuesday

There will be contested races to fill the seats on the April 27. Community members had until 4 p.m. Tuesday to submit their petitions to run for open seats on the board.

According to Business Administrator Keith Rosado, the races for all four open positions will be contested.

Incumbent Lee-Ann Schaadt will run against Donna Firriolo for the open three-year term in Westwood.

Incumbents Barbara Gregory and Darlene Mandeville and challenger Susan Huber are running for two three-year terms in Washington Township.

For the one-year unexpired term in Westwood, Susan Swietkowski, who was appointed to the position Feb. 17; Chris Montana; and Russell Miller are in the running.

Voters will head to the polls April 27 to make their selections for school board members and whether or not to approve the tax levy for the 2011-2012 school district budget. The public hearing on the budget is scheduled for March 24.
