What's Going On At Bergen County Farms This Fall?

As today is the first day of fall, here is our guide to Bergen County's most popular fall farm fun spots.

Fall is finally here.

What better way is there to enjoy fall than to visit a farm, pick some pumpkins, and take a hayride? There is a lot of places in Bergen County that offer a fun fall experience without the need to travel to Sussex County or Upstate New York.

Demarest Farms

This Hillsdale location has been in Bergen County since 1886 and features apple and pumpkin picking on Saturdays and Sunday for $5 per person, a country bakery featuring homemade donuts, home-grown fruits and vegetables, and an ice cream shoppe.

There are plenty of things for kids and adults to enjoy from the garden center to hayrides, farm animals, corn mazes, apple cider donuts, and fresh-pressed apple cider.

Abma’s Farm

This Wyckoff mainstay dates back to the 1790s. The 30-acre facility sells dozens of different kinds of fruits and vegetables, eggs from free-range chickens, and freshly-baked pies.

Special hayrides for $5, which includes pumpkin picking, and scarecrow-making will be offered today in celebration of the first day of fall.

Hayrides are held Saturdays form 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Secor Farms

Hayrides take people on a scenic view of the farm to its pumpkin patch and corn maze 3 to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.

Kids can pet or feed the animals, walk through the hay maze, or play with toy tractors in the corn box.

The farm sells a variety of fall treats, including a variety of apples, fresh-pressed apple cider, and homemade apple cider donuts. Locally-grown produce, dairy products, candy apples, and seasonal decorations are also available.

DePiero’s Country Farm

This old-fashioned farm in the heart of Bergen County features a greenhouse, gift loft with crafts, a bakery with freshly-baked pies, and gourmet groceries from around the world.

The 40,000-square-foot facility features a deli, butcher, and fish market, soup and salad bar, and sells a variety of specialty produce from mushrooms to Thai lemongrass.

The farm also features a petting zoo located behind the greenhouse.

Lupardi’s Nursery

This gardening supply place features family fun every weekend until November.

Kid friendly attractors include: tractor-pulled hayrides, pumpkin picking, a feeding zoo with piglets, goats, and sheep, a 30-foot treehouse slide, mini-maze, and haunted greenhouse.
