Will Your Port Authority Bus Gate Change Tuesday?

Gate changes will affect 'tens of thousands' of commuters.

Gate changes at the Port Authority Bus Terminal will change the daily of “tens of thousands” of commuters when they go into effect Tuesday.

The proposed changes will affect approximately 30 percent of weekday passengers, the Port Authority said in a statement. The gates that specific bus lines pick up and drop off residents at now will change.

The reassignments are part of the Port Authority’s $90 million Quality of Commute Program. The plan is designed to enhance the experience for the 220,000 commuters who use the terminal daily. Reducing crowding at platforms and providing bus companies with more flexibility in responding to traffic disruptions are just some of plan’s highlights.
