2nd Fatal Crash In Woodbridge, This Time Fleeing Woodbridge Police: AG Says

There was a second fatal car crash in Woodbridge this week, this time on Rt. 1 and while fleeing a Woodbridge Police vehicle:

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — There was a second fatal car crash in Woodbridge this week:

Shortly before midnight Thursday a Woodbridge Police officer conducted a motor-vehicle pursuit of a Nissan Maxima that was travelling at a high rate of speed southbound on Rt. 1.

Approximately one minute later, the Nissan crashed into a separate civilian vehicle in the area of Gill Lane.

A passenger in the Nissan was killed. The other occupants of both vehicles sustained serious injuries and were taken to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center.

The body of a deceased dog was also located inside the Nissan.

The police vehicle was not directly involved in the collision, said the Attorney General. The identities of those involved are not being released at this time.

This is not related to a fatal crash that occurred Wednesday night on Rt. 27 in Woodbridge, where Amber Torres, 22, of Colonia, was killed in a head-on collision with a 28-year-old man from Iselin.

That crash occurred at 10:36 p.m. on Rt. 27 north near Deepa Auto Repair. Police did not release any additional information as to what caused the head-on collision. Colonia Woman Killed In Head-On Crash With Iselin Man
