A New Chicken is in Town: Cluck-U Comes to Woodbridge
If you see the dancing chicken by the side of the road on St. George Ave., you're at the right place.
Why did the chicken dance by the side of the road?
No, it's not a joke, but you'll definitely be correct in smiling. The dancing chicken in question is on St. George Ave., calling attention to one of newest fast food enterprises, Cluck-U Chicken.
If you went to Rutgers or spent any time around New Brunswick, you're probably already familiar with Cluck-U Chicken. The fast food alternative was begun by a college student in 1985 who wanted it as a change of pace from regular fast food and burgers the college community consumed on a regular basis.

By 1990, the Cluck-U concept was purchased by a businessman who brought it to a college town in Maryland. Now there are 20 Cluck-U franchises, the latest being the store that opened three weeks ago in the Colonia section of the township.
The dancing chicken, by the way, has been dubbed Cluckster. When he isn't calling motorists' attention to the new chicken restaurant in town, the man behind the chicken suit is John, who "does a little bit of everything" inside the restaurant.
