WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Alcohol may have been a factor in a head-on car crash in Woodbridge this past Sunday, police tell Patch, where a car driven by a Florida man crashed head-on into a family's SUV on State Street.
This is an industrial part of Woodbridge Township near the Perth Amboy border.
The 41-year-old Florida man, Stephen Rios, was driving a 1985 Mazda RX-7 on State Street when he veered over the yellow line and crashed head-on into a Honda CRV carrying a family of four, said Sgt. James Chessere of the Woodbridge police. This happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday, June 9.

"Alcohol may have been a factor in this crash; we're still waiting for toxicology tests to come back, but we're investigating if it was," said Chessere.
Rios was seriously injured in the crash, suffering severe head and neck injuries and he had to be airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
