All Aboard, Next Stop City Hall

How 'We the People' can take back our government.

All Aboard, Next Stop Town Hall!

Owing to poor planning and, as many are coming to realize, deceitful political rhetoric, à la the McCormac Administration, many residents living near, and those who would like to commute from, the Avenel train station have found parking is extremely limited.
The parking that was shown on the original promotional designs used by the McCormac Administration to sell the development of the 500 apartment/townhome complex to residents of Avenel never materialized! Most of the parking that is onsite is reserved for renters and townhome owners. To make matters worse, the complex has an “Arts Theater and Shops” site within the complex which also has limited parking.
Compounding the parking dilemma is the fact that parking on the other side of the tracks, which is only accessible via a long, uncovered walk around and under the tracks, is also limited. Sadly, aside from the discomfort the walk causes for commuters, it is a horror for the aged and handicapped.
In yet another bungled attempt to put a bandage on a hemorrhaging wound, the McCormac Administration imposing “Permit Parking” in the area, much to the chagrin of residents.
In what is so typical of the man who believes he will be “Mayor for Life”, John McCormac, has refused to meet with locals and those who have formed a commuter’s advocacy group to discuss their concerns. In fact, he has been terse, contemptuous and dismissive toward them.
Putting on a twist on an adage: If the Mayor won’t come to the People, let the People go to the Mayor!
Catching him at a Town Council meeting, with his Town Council present, is the most direct and powerful way those with valid concerns can address such concerns to those elected to represent their constituency!
On Tuesday, September 4th, the Council will meet at 7P.M. Those wishing to present their concerns to the Council and, if he shows, the Mayor, can do so that night. If not then, then, hopefully, at the next Council meeting on October 9th.; and every meeting thereafter until the “will of the people” has been recognized and properly addressed.
