More Taxpayer Money Down Another Rabbit Hole!

Is The Mayor of Woodbridge Township Pouring Taxpayer Money Into Yet Another Rabbit Hole?

Until recently, only a few township residents and members of the Club at Woodbridge knew Mayor John McCormac was taking over the Club. Even the Mayor's (his, not ours) Town Council were claiming ignorance ( a rather natural state for them) of the deal the mayor would soon direct them to sanction.
That's right, McCormac has the gaul to commit our tax dollars, Approximately $9.7 Million of them, just for openers, to pay for the purchase of the Club.
So confident is McCormac that his town council will "rubber stamp" another of his preposterous expenditures, that the owner's of the Club sent a letter to its members on July 17th notifying the membership the Township's plans to take over the Club's operations effective October 1, 2018!
This is really fascinating when one considers the Town Council on July 24, said they knew "nothing" (Thank you Sgt. Schultz of Hogan's Hero's fame) about the purchase, except the matter was under discussion.
Imagine how shocked the our "ignorance is bliss" council members must have been when, on August 7, they had the First reading of an Ordinance to allow the McCormac Administration to go forward with the purchase of the Club!
What is even more embarrassing ( or should be ) for the council is the fact that according to the Township's responses to Open Public Records Requests (OPRA's), the Towship has no appraisal for the property, no business plan, no inspection reports (see the photo of the sewage problem today in the men's shower/sauna area) no correspondence between the Township and the Club regarding the purchase and future operation of the Club; there just are "no responsive documents" in the Township's records detailing McCormac's acquisition of the Club!?!
On August 21, a Second Reading of the Ordinance to purchase the Club will be voted upon ( rubber stamp in actuality) by the council, after the public has an opportunity to discuss the Ordinance.
If anyone in the Township questions why McCormac is buying the Club, which aside from the $9.7 Million initial cost, will cost the taxpayers to lose $240K in annual property tax revenues, and God only knows what in future operational costs, badly needed building and equipment repairs, etc., Please come to that meeting!
Oh, one more thing: There is a rumor McCormac wants to convert part of the Club into another ice hockey rink at more cost to the taxpayers.
What a sport he is, with our money!
