Gas Station Attendant Robbed At Gunpoint On Parkway In Woodbridge

The armed robbery took place at 6:51 a.m. Wednesday at the Colonia rest stop on the Parkway south.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A gas station attendant on the Garden State Parkway south in Woodbridge was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday morning, said New Jersey State Police.

This happened at 6:51 a.m. at the Shell gas station at the Colonia rest stop, which is located on the Parkway south as it runs through Woodbridge Township. The attendant was not injured, and no arrests have been made as of Thursday morning.

Police say a car entered the service area and parked alongside the Shell gas pump, as if to get gas.

A man and a woman got out of the car and went into the Dunkin' Donuts, while the driver and another passenger, both men, remained in the vehicle. When the man and the woman got back to the car, the driver, an African-American man wearing all black with a green bandana, walked over to the attendant and brandished a gun.

He then stole the gas station attendant's phone and approximately $500 in cash, said police.

All the suspects entered the vehicle and fled from the scene southbound on the Garden State Parkway.

State Police did not release what kind of car they were driving, citing the integrity of the investigation.
