Arrest in Colonia Porch Pirating Video

Woodbridge Township, NJ - An Elizabeth woman is the one who was caught on tape, stealing packages from the front of homes in Colonia last month, Woodbridge police announced Monday.

On Nov. 30, a resident of Colonia Boulevard reported that several packages were taken from the front porch of their home. The homeowner caught the thefts on videotape and broadcast the video on Facebook, News 12 New Jersey and elsewhere. Someone saw the video circulate on social media and in the news and contacted police in Elizabeth: They knew who the woman was.

Chantell Wright, 44, of Magnolia Avenue in Elizabeth was arrested Monday, Dec. 12 by the Woodbridge PD. She was charged with one count of theft by unlawful taking. Woodbridge police remind residents to try and have neighbors pick up your holiday packages, or have them dropped off in a place that's out of sight.
