Arrest Made In Fatal Carteret Shooting
A Carteret man turned himself in and has been charged with the fatal shooting that took place last Wednesday afternoon in Carteret.
CARTERET, NJ — A Carteret man has been charged with the fatal shooting last week of Malik Pandy, 27, of Carteret.
Yhakeem Kornegay, 29, of Carteret turned himself in on Sunday and was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault, second-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, said the Middlesex County Prosecutor.
He is being held at the Middlesex County jail.

At 1:06 p.m. last Wednesday, police responded to the area of Lincoln Avenue in Carteret for a 911 call of a shooting.
Upon arrival, police located two men who sustained gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for their injuries.

One of the victims, Malik Pandy, 27, succumbed to his gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
