Baby Deer Rescued From Edison Fence

Edison firefighters had to cut the fawn out of a fence Tuesday morning at a home on Southfield Road.

EDISON, NJ — Edison Township firefighters shared these photos of a baby deer that was stuck in a fence Tuesday morning and had to be rescued.

The incident happened Tuesday morning in a backyard on Southfield Road: A resident was the first to find the fawn, which had become stuck in a fence. Edison firefighters had to use an electric saw to cut through the iron bars. They got the fawn out safely but the animal's hips were injured and he had to be taken to a nearby veterinarian for treatment.
