Body Pulled From Raritan River After Driscoll Bridge Jump, Report Say

A man died after he parked his car on the Driscoll Bridge, climbed on the hood and jumped into the Raritan River, a published report said.

A Somerset County man died after he parked his car on the Driscoll Bridge, climbed on the hood and jumped into the Raritan River, according to mycentraljersey.com.

State police identified the man as Troy McCracken, 43, of the Somerset section of Franklin, that report said.

On Monday, NJ.com reported that rescue crews were searching the Raritan River after police received reports of an abandoned vehicle on the Driscoll Bridge and a person in the water.

The Driscoll Bridge connects Woodbridge and Sayreville on the Garden State Parkway.

Around 6:30 a.m., the Perth Amboy Fire Department received a request for search assistance from State Police, NJ.com said.

Around 12:30 p.m., a body was pulled from the water, according to mycentraljersey.com.
