An hour before the robbery, one brother called in an anonymous bomb threat to Metuchen High School, which is about a mile away from the bank. 800 students were evacuated, but no bomb was found. Police determined that the bomb-threat was called in to draw police attention away from the bank.
Both brothers were charged with robbery, theft, and making a false public alarm. They are being held on $250,000 bail each.
