WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A 50-year-old man drove into Jim's Signs at 1400 Rahway Avenue in Woodbridge Thursday morning, according to Woodbridge Twp. police.

This is a sign shop across from the Avenel prison. There is also another building there, Industrial Instrumentation Services, and the driver clipped the side of Jim's Signs and then drove right into the Industrial Instrumentation Services building, said Woodbridge police.

"There is a driveway between the two buildings and the driver said he was backing out of the driveway when he says his car revved out of control," said Capt. Scott Kuzma. "He went across the train tracks, hit the corner of Jim's Signs and literally drove into the other building."

The driver, miraculously, was not injured in the crash.

He was driving a Chrysler Aspen, an SUV. The damage to the Industrial Instrumentation Services can be repaired, but Jim Sign's actually suffered more serious damage and will need to be evaluated by the Woodbridge Township buildings department, Kuzma said. He believes the car hit a support beam of the building.
