Carteret Teen, 15, Charged With Murder Of Older Teen
Police say a Carteret teenage girl, 15, fatally stabbed an older teen boy, 18, who she knew, Wednesday night.
CARTERET, NJ — A 15-year-old Carteret teenage girl has been charged with fatally stabbing an older teen, 18, who was known to her.
At 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, authorities responded to a home on Roosevelt Avenue for a 911 call of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, Zion Barton, 18, of the Bronx who had sustained a stab wound, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.
The teen was transported to a local hospital, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A fifteen-year-old girl who knew him stabbed Barton, said Carteret Police and the county prosecutor.
The teen girl was taken into custody and charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

The juvenile is detained pending a preliminary hearing in Superior Court.
The two teens were acquainted, said the county prosecutor.
