Cats, Dog Seized From Insect-Infested Home In Woodbridge, Officials Say

The NJSPCA helped Woodbridge animal control officers seized 10 cats and a mixed-breed pit bull from a home in the Avenel section of town.

Woodbridge animal control officers seized 10 cats and a mixed-breed pit bull from a township home that officials say was infested with bugs and cluttered from floor to ceiling in many rooms.

On Wednesday, the state Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals helped the Woodbridge Township Animal Control officers execute a warrant at a Cornell Street home in the Avenel section of town, according to a NJSPCA news release.

The news release said the woman who lived at the home has a history of hoarding and has been working with a social worker. But the news release said, improvements had not been made to the house by Wednesday, and township animal control officers obtained a warrant to seize the animals.
