"Come to the Cabaret" at Woodbridge High School
Cabaret, the Broadway musical, will be on the board at WHS on March 22-25.

The sensational Broadway musical 'Cabaret' will be presented by Woodbridge High School on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 22, 23, and 24, at 7:30 pm, and on Sunday, March 25 at 2 pm.
Woodbridge’s production of Cabaret features 40 cast members, plus 10 crew members/backstage support volunteers, along with another dozen musicians in the pit. These are dedicated WHS students giving their time, talent and energy to make a memorable production. This year, even more WHS students are part of the team, as many of Mr. Angatia’s art students are creating a colorful backdrop to transport our audiences to 1930’s Berlin.
The play tells the story of two juxtaposing love stories: Sally and Cliff (played by Kelly Peterson and Rob Handerhan), and Frau Schneider and her suitor, Schultz (played by Kiersten Morgan and Peter Willoughby) set against the rise of the Nazis. The action centers around a notorious nightclub, the Kit Kat Club, where a mysterious master of ceremonies (Mike Korner) and a chorus line of ravishing chorus girls entertain us. It’s a dramatic and entertaining expression of life as seen through the prism of history. The cabaret “entertainment” comments on the characters’ lives, and ours.

It was also made into a multiple-Oscar-winning movie in 1972 starring Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey.
The show is presented by the Senior Class of 2012. The director is Tom Lynch, the Production Supervisor is Kelly Terrell, and the musical director is Doreen Jorgensen. Choreography is by Megan Peterson, and Troy Anderson and Aderly Rodriguez are stage managers.
