Confined-Space Rescue In Woodbridge

Crews rescued a 30-year-old man who became light-headed while working in a small enclosure on Riverside Drive Thursday night.

A 30-year-old man, who became light-headed while working in a confined space, was rescued Thursday night, police said.

Rescue crews used a pulley and a stokes first aid basket to get the man, who had been working in a small electrical enclosure, about 15 feet below the floor of the basement, police said.

Capt. Roy Hoppock said the rescue occurred around 8:15 p.m. Thursday at the Woodbridge Energy Center on Riverside Drive in Fords.

The worker was taken to Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy for treatment.
