They had needle-nose pliers with them, commonly used to cut off security sensors and price tags, Woodbridge police said.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A Rahway husband and wife were arrested Saturday and charged with shoplifting from two stores in the Woodbridge Center Mall, and they had their 6-year-old daughter with them at the time. The pair was found with a set of needle-nose pliers with them, commonly used to cut off security sensors and price tags, Woodbridge police said.
In total, the couple is charged with stealing nearly $700 worth of girl's and adult clothing, jewelry and cosmetics from the mall. Hany and Neven Gendy were first stopped at 6 p.m. Saturday inside the J.C. Penny. A store security officer said he saw the man pulling men's clothing off the shelves and putting the items into a shopping bag. He also said he saw both the man and woman put girl's clothing, cosmetics and jewelry into other shopping bags and try to walk out of the store.
They were stopped and that's when police said they found an additional $520 worth of stolen items inside the bags from the Boscov's. Police also said they found the needle-nose pliers in the woman's purse. The couple was handcuffed, taken to Woodbridge police headquarters and charged with shoplifting as well as possession of burglary tools. A family member came and got the child.
