Dashboard Camera Video Released In Fatal Police Shooting In Woodbridge
The NJ Attorney General just released body-camera footage from the Dec. 28 fatal police shooting of a man on the Parkway:
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — On Thursday, the New Jersey Attorney General released police footage from the Dec. 28 fatal police shooting of a man on the Garden State Parkway in Woodbridge.
The man shot and killed by police was Kevin Harlfinger, 40, a Perth Amboy resident.
Attorney General Matt Platkin says Harlfinger was driving a stolen van. Officers from the Cranford Police Department were pursuing the van south down the Parkway when it crashed near near Exit 131, in Woodbridge Township.

After the crash, the driver (Harlfinger) exchanged gunfire with officers Christopher Folinusz and Ryan McSharry, both on the Cranford Police force, said the Attorney General. Harlfinger was pronounced deceased at the scene at approximately 12:04 a.m., December 29. A gun was recovered near his body.
Police officer Folinusz sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound, was treated at a hospital and later released.

This is the first time the AG released police officers' body-worn and dashboard-camera footage from the shooting, as well as police radio calls from the incident.

Anytime someone dies during an encounter with a law enforcement officer, the Attorney General has to investigate to see if criminal charges should be filed against the police officers
Harlfinger’s family was given an opportunity to review the recordings prior to their public release.
