DUI Crash on Outerbridge Crossing Bridge, Port Authority Police Report

A Monroe Township man, 35, was found with an open bottle of rum in his crashed Audi, Port Authority police said.

Perth Amboy, NJ - A man was arrested early Sunday morning after getting in to a car crash on the Perth Amboy side of the Outerbridge Crossing Bridge, Port Authority police told Patch.

Port Authority Police were called to the scene of a damaged and disabled 2006 Audi at 5:45 a.m. in the New Jersey-bound lanes of the roadway. The Audi was running and the vehicle showed significant damage to the front end, as pictured above.

An open, partially consumed bottle of rum was in the passenger compartment, police said. Port Authority officers interviewed the driver, Mario Crocitto, 35, and found his speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet, police said.

Crocitto, of Monroe Township, N.J., was administered a sobriety test and he failed.

He was arrested and charged with DWI and for having an open container alcohol in his vehicle. His Audi was towed from the scene.
