E'Town Gas Donates to Help With Heating

Through its charitable foundation, Elizabethtown Gas is making it easier to help those in need keep up with their heating bills this winter.

Elizabethtown Gas, through the charitable arm of its parent company, AGL Resources, is doing its part to help residents stay warm this winter.
The AGL Resources Private Foundation donated $120,000 in energy assistance grants to eight organizations in the Elizabethtown Gas service territory.

The recipients include: NJ Shares, United Way of Greater Union County, InfoLine of Central Jersey, Catholic Charities, Union County Puerto RicanOccupational Center for Education Economic Development (PROCEED), Puerto Rican Association Human Development (PRAHD), Puerto Rican Action Board (PRAB), and North West NJ Community Action Program (NORWESCAP).

In a statement, the company wanted to assure customers that they can take advantage of several programs to help with heating bills and to control energy usage, and save money at the same time.

“Our primary goal is to ensure that heating assistance is made available to all thatqualify,” said Don Carter, vice president and general manager of Elizabethtown Gas in a statement. “Residents who live on a fixed income should not have to choose between paying for food and medicine or heat. LIHEAP funds can help offset the costs ofheating a home in the winter.”
