Edison the #1 Safest City in America, Survey Finds
Woodbridge ranked fourth, with the "first notable drop in the number of sex offenders per capita," study finds.

Parenting.com named Edison Township the #1 safest city in America.
The poll only ranked cities with a population of 100,000 or higher. From there, Parenting compiled FBI crime stats, the violent crime rate and the number of sex offenders per capita.
And Edison, New Jersey came out on top, just beating out Port St. Lucie, the #2 city on the list. Woodbridge Township came in fourth on the list.

Parenting also factored in the Institute for Economics & Peace’s index, which examines the availability of small arms and the presence of police. New Jersey ranks 28th in that index, while Florida ranks 47th out of 50.
”Our pick for the safest city in America is Edison, N.J.! It has all-around low crime rates and fewer sex offenders per capita,” says Parenting.com.

As for Woodbridge, “Woodbridge Township sits just across the river from Staten Island, N.Y. In this New Jersey city, we find the first notable drop in the number of sex offenders per capita,” Parenting found.
