Edison Donates 2 Squad Cars to SPCA

"NJSPCA receives no state funding whatsoever. These vehicles are necessary and very much appreciated," SPCA spokesman tells Patch.

Edison, NJ - The Edison Police Department has donated two retired patrol cars to the New Jersey SPCA, which operates out of New Brunswick.

The two patrol cars will be used by SPCA officers to respond to calls for animal issues. In just this past week alone, the NJ SPCA was called to remove 100 cats from a Woodbridge condo; 17 dogs and puppies being kept in their own filth in Keyport and 36 cats kept in a hoarding situation in Colts Neck. The police cars will not be used to transport animals.

"NJSPCA receives no state funding whatsoever. These vehicles are necessary and very much appreciated. Thank you, Edison Township," said SPCA spokesman Matt Stanton.
