Edison, NJ - A car crash at McKinley and Grove avenues caused a medical van to topple over into the front yard of an Edison Township home last week, injuring the 89-year-old Edison man inside the van, who was already in a wheelchair. The accident happened last Thursday, when a Mercedes-Benz collided with the private medical transport.
The accident occurred at 9:18 a.m. last Thursday, Dec. 8, when the Mercedes, driven by an Edison resident, collided with the back of the van as its driver was making a left turn from McKinley Avenue onto Grove Avenue, police said. The force of the collision caused the van to topple over onto the front lawn of a McKinley Avenue home, said investigating Officer Salvatore Cipolla.
The van's driver suffered a cut on his hand, and its elderly passenger, an 89-year-old wheelchair-bound Edison man, complained of pain. They were both taken by ambulance to nearby JFK Medical Center for treatment.
