Edison Memorial Tower Clean-Up Sunday: Volunteers Needed
Organizers estimate needing as many as 200 volunteers. Meet Sunday at 9 a.m. at the park's entrance.

EDISON, NJ — It’s not too late to volunteer for an extensive clean-up and beautification project this Sunday, July 9 at Thomas Edison State Park, located off Rt. 27 and Christie Street in Edison Township. It's the site of the historic Edison Memorial Tower, pictured above.
The Edison Memorial Tower’s Board of Trustees partnered with the town’s Environmental Commission and Clean Communities program to host the clean-up project, which will begin this Sunday at 9 a.m. Organizers estimate needing as many as 200 volunteers to help clear fallen trees, prune bushes and shrubs, and create walking trails leading to a pond at the 36-acre Menlo Park property.
They also hope to enlist assistance from area landscapers, owners of garden centers and nurseries, and Edison Township residents willing to bring their own chainsaws, wheelbarrows, rakes and shovels.
