Edison Police Increase Presence At Train Station, Menlo Park Mall

The presence is precautionary, police said.

EDISON, NJ-- Police will be increasing their presence at the Edison train station and Menlo Park Mall in response to the pipe bombs found at the Elizabeth train station, police told Patch.

“While there has been no local threat, our department is taking a 'better safe than sorry' approach,” police spokesman Lt. Robert Dudash said in a statement.

Commuters and shoppers will notice an increase in uniformed police officers in and around the Central Ave train station and the Menlo Park Mall. You can also expect to see an increase in traffic enforcement in both locations.

Lt. Dudash reminded residents to remain alert and notify police of any suspicious activities.

“As always, we strenuously encourage commuters, shoppers and the public at-large to dial 9-1-1, or alert one of our officers, if they see something suspicious,” Dudash said. “Everyone needs to be vigilant and observant.”
