Elderly Woodbridge Woman A Victim Of 'Distraction Burglary' This Week
A man knocked on a woman's door, saying he was from PSE&G. While she tested light switches in her kitchen, he ransacked her bedrooms:
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — An elderly Woodbridge woman was the victim of a distraction burglary recently, Woodbridge Police announced Tuesday.
And now they want all residents — but especially Woodbridge senior citizens — to be aware this is happening:
The victim answered her front doorbell and found a man claiming to be a public service worker. Once inside her home, the suspect told the woman he had to check the switches in the kitchen. The suspect then asked the woman to go into the kitchen and flip the light switches.

The woman said the entire time he was in her home, he was on his phone talking to someone about electricity. The suspect then left the victim's house without saying anything.
When the victim went to her bedroom, she discovered her bedroom and another room ransacked.

A neighbor stated that they saw two suspects exiting the victim's front door and flee the area in a white BMW (no further description).
