Lidia Bastianich, the host of the PBS cooking show “Lidia’s Italy,” is set to appear at Joe Canal's Discount Liquor Outlet in Iselin on December 7 from 4 pm to 5 pm. She will be accompanied by Christina Mariani-May of Castello Banfi Wines. The winery is the first winery to have been awarded the International Recognition for Exceptional Environmental, Ethical and Social Responsibility, according to the company website http://www.castellobanfi.com.
Bastianich, an award winning chef, is the author of numerous cookbooks. She has appeared on PBS with the late Julia Child and also served as a celebrity judge on the reality cooking competition "Top Chef." Bastianich also owns restaurants, including Felidia in New York City. The chef's most recent cookbook is "Lidia's Italy in America."
