Two people who were not identified were killed in the crash on Turnpike southbound, at milepost 104.4, in Newark. Multiple vehicles involved.
The crash happened at 4:35 p.m., and multiple injuries were also reported. Several vehicles were involved in the fatal crash in Newark after the tractor trailer overturned, according to police.

The accident happened along Turnpike southbound outside Newark Liberty International Airport, closing the outer roadway.
Traffic north of Interchange 14 was being directed to the inner roadway, according to police.

All southbound traffic north of interchange 14 is being directed to the inner roadway because of a serious crash on the outer. Expect heavy delays thru the area. Traffic entering the southbound Turnpike at 14 from Interstate 78 and the Newark Bay Extension will not be affected.
