Fire Breaks Out At Hollywood Motel In Avenel Wednesday Morning

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — This was the scene at the Hollywood Motel on Rt. 1 north in Avenel Wednesday morning, according to Avenel firefighters.

The fire broke out at about 7:44 a.m. and when Avenel firefighters got there, they found the motel room where it started fully engulfed in flames, said Avenel Fire Official Cory Spillar.

The fire had started to spread to connecting rooms, but firefighters were able to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Police and fire are waiting to talk to two people staying in both those rooms who have since fled the scene.
