Get Your Three Minutes of Fame at "Moves Like Woodbridge"

The kickoff event to get everyone in the township to shake their bootys for three minutes next month begins on Thursday at Woodbridge Center.

The Mayor's Wellness Committee is celebrating some massive fitness moves in real style on Thursday. That's when the kickoff to "Moves Like Woodbridge," another of the extremely cool and fitness-forward gigs Mayor John McCormac puts on for the township citizenry, will be held at Woodbridge Center.

Styled after the Maroon 5 song and video, "Moves Like Jagger," it's a very slick and move-conscious 'tude that will be delivered via performances by Dance Force of Woodbridge High School and Showstoppers, and exercise routines from the YMCA and The Club at Woodbridge.

You might think that it sounds like a fun evening out, but it's only the warmup. The Woodbridge mayor's goal is to have "the entire township" stop on March 22 at exactly 10 am and dance for three minutes.

It is "an effort to get people excited about fitness!", the township website enthused. (And you thought living in Woodbridge just couldn't get any cooler.)

While you're waiting to shake it on March 22, check out the kickoff event and practice your moves to the Maroon 5 video. It will be held at the lower level Sears wing of the mall at 7 pm.
