The 17-year-old Fords girl sustained serious head trauma in the Jan. 12 Parkway crash. 'Her road to recovery will be long,' wrote family.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — The 17-year-old Woodbridge girl who was seriously injured in a five-car accident on the Garden State Parkway earlier this January is slowly recovering, her family publicly posted on Facebook.
This GoFundMe has also been started for the girl; it was started by the fiance of the injured girl's mother. The girl is from the Fords section of Woodbridge.
"I consider (her) my stepdaughter," he wrote. "Unfortunately, (she) was involved in a major traffic accident on Jan. 12, 2022. Her injuries were so severe that she needed to be airlifted to the hospital."

The Woodbridge teen was the only one injured in the five-car crash: She was driving a Nissan Frontier pick-up truck on the Parkway when she was sideswiped by a Jeep Wrangler, said State Police.
This caused her pick-up to overturn and strike three more cars, a Toyota, an Infiniti and a Ford.
Other media outlets reported she was unconscious and pinned her in her pick-up when police and rescuers arrived.
It remains unclear what made the Jeep Wrangler initially sideswipe her or how fast any of the drivers were going. No summonses or charges have yet been issued by State Police and the crash remains under investigation.
