Your top 5 things to do with the little ones this weekend!

Another week, another Grab & Go Kids Planner - five can't-miss activities to do with the children this weekend.

It's President's Day weekend, which likely means time off of school for most kids, so we've expanded this weekend to include Friday and Monday as well, including a full day's worth of family fun at the State Theater in New Brunswick on President's Day.

  • Kidtoons Kick-Off Weekend at Digiplex Rialto Theater;  250 East Broad Street, Westfield; 908-248-4542; Price: Free; Saturday and Sunday, 10 am and noon.

The kick-off weekend of Kidtoons, a series of family-friendly kids programs for children ages 3-7.  See two movies each day - this week it’s “Care Bears: Oopsy Does It!” and “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” on Saturday and “Candy Land: The Great Lollipop Adventure” and “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” on Sunday.  There will also be live entertainment by the Mayo Performing Arts Center Teen Performing Arts Group and giveaways.

  • DrumLine Live at the State Theater; 15 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick; 732-246-7469; Price: $32-67; Sunday, 3 pm.

As part of Hub City Carnivale, performers from schools such as Florida A&M, Southern University, and the University of Georgia bring the rhythmic power of the marching band drumline to the stage in New Brunswick.  A great event to celebrate Black History Month, expect to hear music from Tower of Power and Earth Wind and Fire along with contemporary hip-hop and R&B played with trumpets and drums, coupled with the choreography and athleticism that is synonymous with marching bands.  Starting at 2 pm, families can also participate in arts and crafts workshops in the upstairs lobby (workshops range from $3-6).

  • A Day in the Life: Sealkeeper at Jenkinson’s Aquarium; 300 Ocean Ave, Pt. Pleasant Beach; 732-899-1212; Price: $30 per person; Monday, 9-11 am.

Kids ages 11-16 can learn what it takes to keep Jenkinson’s Aquarium’s harbor seals happy and healthy via this hands-on, behind-the-scenes program with the Aquarium Seal Keepers.  Sneakers are required for this President’s Day morning program.

  • Disney Day Matinee – Pocahontas at the Woodbridge Library; 1 G. Frederick Plaza, Woodbridge; 732-634-4450; Price: Free; Saturday, 2:30-4:30 pm

The Woodbridge Main Public Library will host a viewing of the Disney classic Pocahontas on Saturday.  Free tickets will be distributed at 2 pm, with the movie starting at 2:30.  All ages are welcome.

  • Family Day featuring The Very Hungry Caterpillar and other Eric Carle Favorites at the State Theater; 15 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick; 732-246-7469; Price: $15-$25; Monday, 10:30 am, 1 pm, 3:30 pm.

The main attraction of the State Theater’s Family Day is the black-light puppetry performance of three Eric Carle classics, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Little Cloud, and The Mixed-Up Chameleon.   Also featured as part of Family Day are free storytelling and performances by children’s band StarFish, as well as craft workshops, face painting, balloon animals, and costumed characters.
